Dr. Ziegler completed his undergraduate studies at Brooklyn College, majoring in Biology. He received his dental degree at NYU College of Dentistry in 1992 and was given the Pierre Fauchard Society Award upon graduation. Dr. Ziegler's General Practice Residency was at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn.  Upon finishing his residency, Dr. Ziegler went into private practice in general dentistry with his brother in Brooklyn.

   Having been involved in research in his undergraduate years, he continued his professional affiliation with NYU College of Dentistry by staying on as a faculty member. Dr. Ziegler completed his postgraduate work in Endodontics in 1998, staying on as a full-time Faculty member of the Comprehensive Care and Applied Practice Administration Endodontic Department until 2001. Since that time, Dr. Ziegler has devoted his time to private practice. He has been in dentistry for the past 25 years and has specialized in Endodontics for 16 years.
